HEIMUR Á HVERFANDI HVELI – A WORLD ON THE WANE
Myndin sýnir þau sem í fréttum er iðulega skírskotað til sem “alþjóðasamfélagsins”. Öll þekkjum við þetta: Svo illa hafi verið komið í Írak, Kongó, Venesúela, Líbíu, að ógleymdum öllum hinum ríkjunum að “alþjóðasamfélagið” hafi verið nauðbeygt til þess að skerast í leikinn. Þetta hefur átt við víða um mörg lönd. Einhverra hluta vegna hafa landránsbyggðir í Palestínu og nú hungursneyð og þjóðarmorð á Gaza verið undanskilin fránum augum “alþjóðasamfélagsins”.
Myndin er að sjálfsögðu tekin í Hvíta húsinu í Washington í byrjun vikunnar á fundi fulltrúa nokkurra stærstu Evrópuríkja NATÓ með Donald Trump Bandaríkjaforseta til þess að ræða stríð og frið í Úkraínu. Þetta voru þau Úrsúla von der Layen, forseti framkvæmdastjórnar Evrópusambandsins, Keir Starmer, forsætisráðherra Bretlands, Alexander Stubb, forseti Finnlands, Emmanuel Macron, Frakklandsforseti, Giorgia Meloni, forsætisráðherra Ítalíu, Friedrich Merz, kanslari Þýskalands og Mark Rutte, forstjóri NATÓ. Þarna var líka Volodomir Selensky, forseti Úkraínu.
Um flest er þetta fólk sammála, sumt þó ekki.
Svo byrjað sé á hinu jákvæða, það er að segja samkvæmt þeirra skilningi, þá eru þau öll sammála um að verja beri hærra hlutfalli en fram til þess af þjóðarframleiðslu hvers ríkis um sig í þágu vígbúnaðar. Því má skjóta inn að þetta hefur ríkisstjórn Íslands einnig fallist á en minnir á til heimabrúks að margt af þessu þyrftum við að gera hvort sem er, óháð stríðsundirbúningi. Það er hins vegar mikill munur á því að efla innviði þjóðar út frá almannahag annars vegar og hagsmunum hernaðar hins vegar. Hafnir, flugvellir og annað samgöngukerfi hannað til að taka á móti kjarnorkukafbátum og flugvélum til kjarnorkuárása er ekki sambærilegt við að nálgast viðfangsefnið á samfélagslegum forsendum. En nóg um það, tekist hefur að koma “hagkerfum Evrópu í stríðsham” eins og Charles Michel, forseti leiðtogaráðs Evrópusambandsins hvatti til á dögunum. Allt er þetta í fullkomnu samræmi við kröfur bandarískra forseta, Trumps og forvera hans.
En svo er það sem ”alþjóðasamfélagið” er ósammála um. Trump vill að stríðinu í Úkraínu ljúki sem fyrst. Eftir að hann taldi sig hafa tryggt bandarískum fjárfestum - hrægömmunum eins og þeir stundum eru kallaðir á þessari síðu - aukinn aðgang að auðlindum Úkraínu ekki síðri en að evrópskum fjárfestum höfðu áður verið tryggð, og í öðru lagi að þegar sýnt var að Evrópuhluti NATÓ myndi verða við kröfum um aukin útgjöld til hervæðingar, sá Trump því ekkert til fyrirstöðu að ljúka stríðinu í Úkraínu. Hann kveðst reyndar vera þeirrar skoðunar að þetta stríð hefði aldrei átt að hefjast. Hvers vegna fara í stríð ef allt sem hugurinn girnist fæst með öðrum leiðum?
Trump gefur hins vegar lítið fyrir landamæri Úkraínu. Telur að ljúka eigi stríðinu með eftirgjöf á Krímskaganum og austastata hluta Úkraínu þar sem stríðsátökin hófust árið 2014.
Það sem vantar inn í þessa breytu eru bandarískir harðlínumenn til hægri sem vilja ekki að Úkraínustríðinu ljúki á forsendum forsetans bandaríska fremur en evrópski NATÓ armurinn sem einnig vill að barist verði til sigurs!
Svo eru það náttúrlega Rússarnir með Pútín í fararbroddi. Þeir vilja horfa til þess sem þeir segja vera undirliggjandi ástæður stríðsins, en það er ásetningur Bandaríkjamanna að koma Rússlandi á hnén. Um þetta hef ég margoft fjallað og meðal annars rakið það sem hugmyndaveitur bandaríska hergagnaiðnaðarins og hermálaráðuneytisins, Pentagon, hafa sagt opinberlega.

Svo ætla ég að ráðleggja lesendum síðunnar að gefa sér tíma til að hlusta á fyrrum æðstráðanda í bandaríska hernum, Lawrence Wilkerson, sem skilur öðrum fremur hverjar afleiðingar það hefur haft að framfylgja þeirri stefnu sem Rand stofnunin ráðleggur. Í viðtali við norska fræðimanninn Glen Diesen kemur fram hve mjög honum bandaríska hershöfðingjanum óar við undrigefni Evórpuhluta NATÓ sem hlýði Washington í einu og öllu en þráist helst við ef ljúka á Úkraínustríðinu án „sigurs“.

Svo að lokum að fyrirsögninni um heim á hverfandi hveli.
Fólkið á myndinni telur sig vera „alþjóðasamfélagið“ sem áður segir. Fulltrúar alþjóðasamfélagsins eru þau að sjálfsögðu ekki. Þau eru hins vegar fulltrúar þess hluta heimsins sem um nokkurra alda skeið og vel fram á síðustu öld voru ráðandi um jarðarkringluna alla sem nýlenduherrar í löndum sem nýlenduríkin höfðu sölsað undir sig með vopnavaldi, ránum og skefjalausu ofbeldi. Nýlenduveldin evrópsku réðu þannig miklu og Bandaríkin, öflugasta ríki nýlendustefnu samtímans, ræður vissulega miklu, og það sem meira er, ætlast til þess að fá öllu ráðið og beitir til þess ofbeldi og yfirgangi.
Þetta eiga að teljast bandamenn Íslands. Megi sá dagur koma sem allra fyrst að við losnum úr þessari lágkúrulegu samfylgd.
Í helstu alþjóðastofnun heimsins, Sameinuðu þjóðunum, stendur þetta fólk sem við sjáum á myndinni gegn hinu raunverulega alþjóðsamfélagi sem vill tafarlausa viðurkenningu á Palestínu og að þjóðarmorðinu á Gasa verði hætt þegar í stað. Þau sem eru á myndinni eru hins vegar fulltrúar ríkja sem með ráðum og dáð styðja rasískan zíonisma og morðin a Gaza og fangelsa umvörpum það fólk sem þessu mótmælir. Þegar við mótmælin verður ekki lengur ráðið með ofsóknum og fangelsunum er býsnast og andvarpað yfir grimmd heimsins.

The picture shows representatives of “the international community” often referred to as such in the media. Who does not recall such breaking news: Things have become so dire in Iraq, Congo, Venezuela, Libya … that the “international community” had been forced to intervene. There had been no option to act otherwise!
The illegal settlements in Palestine over the years and now the famine and genocide in Gaza have for some reason escaped the scrutinizing eye of the "international community".
The picture is of course from the White House gathering of the leaders of some of the largest European NATO countries with US President Donald Trump to discuss war and peace in Ukraine. These were Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Alexander Stubb, President of Finnland, Emmanuel Macron, President of France, Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of Italy, Friedrich Merz, Chancellor of Germany and Mark Rutte, Director General of NATO. Volodimir Selensky, the head of Ukraine, was also there.
These people agree on most issues, not all.
To start on the positive side, as they see it. They all agree that a higher percentage of each country's national output should be spent on armaments than before. The Icelandic government has also agreed to this, but for domestic use it is said that this increase in expenditure would have been necessary anyway, regardless of war preparation. This is highly misleading. There is a fundamental difference between strengthening a nation's infrastructure from a public interest perspective on the one hand and military interests on the other. Seaports and airfields designed to receive nuclear submarines and aircraft for nuclear attacks are not comparable to such facilities built for civil use. But this as it may be, the „international community“ can happily rejoice in having accomplished to shift “European economies into a war economy mode" as Charles Michel, the President of the European Council, urged in March 2024. All of this is in perfect accordance with the demands of American presidents, Trump and his predecessors who ordered massive rearmament! So on such fundamentals there is full agreement.
But then to what the self-proclaimed “international community” disagrees on. Trump wants the war in Ukraine to end as soon as possible. After he became convinced that American investors - the vultures as they are sometimes referred to on this site - had been guaranteed increased access to Ukraine's resources in line with European investors - preferable more - , and secondly that the European part of NATO had complied with demands for increased spending on militarisation, Trump saw no reason not to end the war in Ukraine that he believes should never have started. Why go to war if everything you want can be obtained by other means?
Trump does not attach as much importance to Ukraines’ borders as the NATO part of Europe does; he believes that the war should be brought to an end by conceding Crimea and the easternmost part of Ukraine to Russia.
But Trump is not alone in the US. He may have to listen to some friends of his amongst American hardliners on the right who do not want the Ukraine war to end on Trumps ‘terms any more than the European part of NATO. They do not want to end the slaughter until full victory is secured!
Then there are of course the Russians with Putin at the front. They want to look at what they say are the underlying reasons for the war, which is the intention of the US to bring Russia to its knees – “extending Russia” until this happens. This is the wording in reports of think tanks of the American military industrial complex and the Department of Defense, the Pentagon, as is revealed in the Rand report .
This report from Rand is from 2019, long before the Russian invasion of 2022. More or less everything that is recommended in the report has been implemented. The report is very clear and outspoken. But alas! No main stream media dares to refer to it, not to mention quoting it. Here a summary of some relevant points can seen:

I would advise readers of the site to take the time to listen to former US Army Chief of Staff, General Lawrence Wilkerson, who clearly understands the consequences of implementing the policy that the Rand Institute recommends. In an interview with Norwegian academic scholar Glen Diesen, he reveals how disgusted he is by the European part of NATO, which obeys all orders from Washington, only resisting ending the Ukraine war without full "victory".

Again to the White House.
The people in the picture consider themselves to be the “international community” as mentioned above. Of course, they are not representatives of the international community in any true sense. However, they are representatives of that part of the world that until the middle of the 20th century dominated the entire globe as colonial masters, robbers and oppressors. This is a position they still long for and the United Stetes, the most powerful colonial power of our time, has made it clear that it is ready to go to any length to secure its dominant position in the world.
In the world's greatest international arena, the United Nations, these people we see in the picture stand in the way of the real international community that wants immediate recognition of Palestine and that the genocide in Gaza be stopped immediately. Those in the picture, however, are representatives of countries that support racist Zionism
and the genocide in Gaza in word and in deed and to make their position clear they imprison the people who oppose the massacre and give open support to the Palestinian cause.
When the protests can no longer be dealt with through persecution and imprisonment, there is a public sigh over the cruelty of the world.
But the cruelty is theirs! Hopefully, the dominance of colonial oppressors, old and new, is on the wane. The only worry is that they will not be gone with the wind soon enough.
